FORMER Prime Minister John Howard is coming to the Sunshine Coast for Mary Kate's Noosa Heads store as part of a national tour for his new book The Menzies Era.

Menzies is the only Australian Prime Minister to hold power longer than Mr Howard - 18 years compared to Howard's 11.

Howard will be dining for lunch and dinner at Berardos Restaurant and Bar on Hastings St, Noosa on October 3.

This tome is the second for the former PM, whose memoir Lazarus Rising went on to become a bestseller.

According to promotional material for the book, Menzies rose to the top job and held it through some of Howard's most formative years.

"Seeing Menzies as an inspiration and a role model, his insights and thoughtful analysis into Sir Robert Menzies - the man, the politician, and the legacy, make for a fascinating book."

Lunch tickets are $59 including three-course lunch and glass of wine.

Dinner includes a four-course dinner and glass of wine for $79.
