Shot Bosca bounces back

IT’S a dog-eat-dog world, but 12-year-old kelpie Bosca is managing his own after being shot in a bow and arrow attack six months ago.

Owner Sue Whitehall, a resident of Mt Berryman in the Lockyer Valley, said she was delighted to have Bosca back home.

“I’m definitely glad to have him back. It (his recovery) was a miracle,” she said.

“He’s doing well, but he’s not the same as he used to be.

“The arrow attack seems to have knocked him around a bit and he can’t seem to get around as much.

“He can’t work anymore, but he’s still just as friendly as he always has been.”

Bosca was shot through his side in October last year outside the Whitehall’s 607-hectare property.

After a long recovery process at the Gatton Veterinary Surgery, Bosca and his owners were reunited.

The culprits have yet to be caught and Mrs Whitehall declined to say what she’d like to do to the perpetrators as it might not have been fit to print.

“Honestly, I’m just grateful to have him back,” she said.

“He’s just a great dog.”

The very-much alive Bosca will be turning 13 this year.
