Shipment of huge mining trucks arrives at Mackay Port

CRANES swung into action to lift a convoy of four huge mining trucks onto the docks at Port of Mackay this week.

Vessel BBC Scandinavia arrived in Mackay from Port Headland in Western Australia on Tuesday and delivered the four MT4400 Caterpillar trucks to customers Hastings Deering, who shared images of the arrival on social media.

The trucks, approximately 7.2m high, 8 metres wide, 13.9m long and weighing about 161 tonnes are en-route to the Bowen Basin to begin work.

The truck's engine contains 16 cylinders with a gross power output of close to 2500 horse power.
