Shepparton gets a truck and transport museum

GREATER Shepparton's truck and transport museum is now a go.

Peter Hill, one of the project's spearheads, told Shepparton News that the project was on track to start construction early this year, with the hope to be completed by early 2020.

The Museum for Vehicle Evolution project, titled MOVE, was allocated $2.5 million in funding from the Federal Government.

The Shepparton News report said discussions had been happening for several years about the project, which aims to "produce a new tourism asset and honour the region's truck and transport history".

Mr Hill told the Victorian publication funding for the local contribution component of the project started in August and had raised $1.25 million so far.

Greater Shepparton City Council will reportedly consider the case soon.
