 "For many, celebrating Australia Day involves coming together and sharing a meal - whether it is breakfast in the bush, a great Aussie BBQ, or a sit down dinner with family and friends," Acting Premier Jeff Seeney said.

"If you've got something special and uniquely Australian that you're putting on the table this Australia Day, share a photo of it.

"By entering the competition you will put yourself in the running to win the ultimate MasterChef experience.

"Thanks to our Australia Day sponsor, Network Ten, the lucky winner and a friend will travel to Melbourne to meet the judges from the MasterChef series on the new set.

"You'll then be given the five-star treatment as you dine at one of Melbourne's best restaurants.

"I'm calling Queenslanders to put on their chef hats and get cooking," Mr Seeney said. 

The competition is now open, with entries closing on 20 January.

In the lead up to Australia Day a shortlist of entries will be made available for public voting, with the Ultimate Aussie Dish winner announced on 29 January.

"Make sure you get your family and friends on board so they can vote and help you win this great prize," Mr Seeney said.

"I look forward to seeing what Queenslanders vote as the Ultimate Aussie Dish."
