AUSTRALIAN John Senden has easily dispatched countryman Jason Day six and five in the second round of the World Golf Championships (WGC) Accenture Match Play Championship.
Senden took the lead of the match on the third hole and never looked back, wrapping up the match with a birdie on the par five 13th hole of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Dove Mountain.
"I thought it would be a close match today," Senden said.
"(But) I put the pressure on early ... and kept putting the pressure on."
Senden never lost a hole to the number two seed, making four birdies and carding a bogey-free round, while Day suffered under the Arizona sun.
The world number seven was never in contention as a six hole par stretch from the opening tee flatlined Day's chances of progressing to the third round for a second consecutive year.
Senden will now play the winner of the Charl Schwartzel and Sang-Moon Bae match-up in the third round.
