Education system needs to teach kids more about our nation

HAVING just watched a segment on the Footy show, I was amazed that a group of school children couldn't answer a question on what is the capital of Australia.
Don't the teachers today teach the main things about Australia?

My grandchildren didn't know a lot about Anzac day until we made them read and watch what we could find about this special day for Australia.
I think it is about time teachers and schools went back to the basic of teaching.
