Sarah’s surprise comeback, now she hopes for the top 10
RAW chicken was the dish that eliminated her, so cooking the same recipe for a chance at redemption was always going to be a risk for Mackay's Sarah Todd.
But it was a risk that paid off, with the former model re-entering the MasterChef competition.
In a shock twist, all 14 eliminated contestants were invited back into the kitchen for a chance to get back into the competition.
In last night's episode, contestants had the choice to use ingredients from their best dish or the one they were eliminated on.
Ms Todd said there was a good reason for re-cooking the dish that had sent her home.
"I chose to do that because I just wanted to prove to both myself and everybody else, that if I cooked this dish through and didn't make that silly little mistake, it would've been a beautiful dish," she said.
"It was my chance to prove that I could do it."
Ms Todd said it was "awesome" to be back.
"Having the chance to get back in and fight for it again, means I can throw everything into it and not let anything hold me back anymore," she said.
Ms Todd was eliminated almost two weeks ago. It was a big shock as she was shaping up as one of the favourites for the title.
She said she had learnt a lot from being dumped from the cooking show. "I've definitely learnt that you can be a great cook, but you need to have an even stronger mind to get through the competition," Ms Todd said.
"As soon as you let your guard down and let things build up on you, you can easily do a bad dish and get sent home."
When Ms Todd was eliminated she spoke of how much she missed her fiance and young son.
"I think it's actually probably the most ideal situation, to go home for two weeks and come back into the competition fighting," she said.
"Just to have that little bit of time with them was incredible."
Ms Todd said it was a tough competition and her next goal was to make the top 10.
