Sarah Todd makes it to the top 24 of Masterchef

THOUSANDS auditioned for this season of Masterchef and only 24 have now made it through, including former Mackay woman, Sarah Todd.

Ex-model Sarah Todd grew up in Walkerston before appearing on catwalks all over the world.

She has left the glamorous life of a model behind for the intensity of the kitchen.

The self-proclaimed tomboy at heart previously told The Daily Mercury that Masterchef gave her the chance to make her dream of working in the food industry come true.

She said the end goal for her was to own a modern Indian restaurant, with her husband.

Ms Todd is the proud mother of a baby boy and Indian and French food is her specialty.

"My partner is Indian so he taught me about Indian food," she said.

Ms Todd's mother was a single mum with a sweet tooth. Her daughter has fond childhood memories of looking at a kitchen table overflowing with pavlova, trifle and cookies that they had baked together.
