Saminda ready for next career step

SAMINDA Fern's voice could soon be booming across a Broadway stage according to her new musical director Gordon Hamilton.

Ms Fern, a Maryborough performer, joined world renowned a cappella group The Australian Voices earlier this year, making her first steps towards international fame.

After living a life of musical theatre for more than 25 years, Ms Fern said she was ready to take her steps towards the international stage.

"It's something I've always aspired to do," Ms Fern said.

"Musical theatre is everything to me, so to have this opportunity to perform around the world is just amazing."

The Australian Voices musical director Gordon Hamilton said Saminda's voice is definitely one to watch.

"One of our past performers had a voice similar to Saminda's," Mr Hamilton said.

"She is currently performing in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Love Never Dies."

"So it's clear to say we can expect big things from Saminda."

Ms Fern is set to appear in The Australian Voices performance of Summer Moon this October at the Brolga Theatre.
