SAM Armytage seemed smitten on Sunrise this morning as she interviewed Queensland's "hot cop".

The Channel Seven breakfast show co-host seemed giddier than a Cash Cow winner during a chat with a Queensland police officer called Mason Jago.

The constable gained notoriety on Sunday when he snapped a selfie on a missing phone before returning it to the owner who happened to be an ABC reporter.

ABC Brisbane and Queensland Police Service shared the photo on their Facebook pages and the handsome policeman's selfie has since gone viral online, racking up nearly 15,000 likes in just a few days.

"I didn't think I was good looking at all," he claimed.

"You are!" Armytage replied as she struggled to maintain her composure.

Her co-host David "Kochie" Koch tried to push on with the interview, but Armytage held up proceedings.

"Can we just have a moment to look at Mason's arms please?" she said.

The constable was shy and did the briefest of flexes before saying, "there's not much to look at".

"I'll be the judge of that, Mason," Armytage said as she once again burst into a fit of giggles.

"What's your girlfriend think of this?" Koch asked the police office.

"Yeah she's not happy at all," he joked. "She's scared another female's gonna take her man."

"Oh Mason, you're not only hot but you're hilarious too," Armytage said, "she might wanna be scared".
