Rugby league sign-on a big hit in the community

As the cricket season comes to an end, rugby league players are starting to get back into training, ready for the Clash for Cash competition on Saturday 18th March.

The rugby league sign-on was held at the weekend, with many eager juniors and seniors placing their name down, ahead of training on Tuesday and Thursday.

It was held at the Mundubbera Lawn Bowls Club this afternoon, with the players versing each other in a friendly lawn bowls match.

President of Mundubbera rugby league, Cameron Macdonald, said it's good to see a such a good turn out, considering the cricket grand final was held on the same day.

"It's good to see a lot of Mundubbera juniors getting involved,” Mr Macdonald said.

The club is encouraging any junior or senior player who didn't make it to the sign-on today, to come to training on Tuesday or Thursday at 6pm, at Archer Park.

This season the Mundubbera Tigers will be playing against four teams from Biggenden, Gayndah, Eidsvold and Monto.

The Clash for Cash event will be held on Saturday 18th March.
