Roaring Twenties takes lawn audience by storm

STORMY weather failed to overshadow the Proserpine Entertainment Centre's final lawn event of the year.

The dynamic Roaring Twenties cabaret jazz show, held last Thursday night, capped off a perfect conclusion to the first successful year of PEC lawn events.

Featuring stars Reginald Stayhorn, Steve Powell, Melissa Western and Tnee Dyer, the performance provided high-quality entertainment for everyone.

Guests including Sharon Taylor and Sonya Keioskie immersed themselves in the spirit of the night, putting their themed costumes to good use.

Theatre manager Chris Patrick said while the weather conditions were less than ideal, it failed to dampen the performance, which was unanimously loved.

"It was a good show,” he said.

"Because it was raining, (guests) sat undercover and they warmed to the show very well.

”All of them loved it.”

Mr Patrick said the decision to run lawn events was made this year and while prospective guests would have to wait until 2017 for more, there was plenty to look forward to.

"The way we have been running it works but we would like to change a few aspects of it. We want to give it a better feel and do something a little different,” he said.

"We will have a big year next year and there are lots of different events booked in, like ballet, comedy and well-known acts.”
