OPPOSING teams beware - Brisbane Roar has forgotten about last season's Premiers Plate and grand final triumphs.

The A-League champions are hungry for more silverware ahead of tonight's round-of-32 FFA Cup clash against Perth outfit the Stirling Lions at the Western Australia Athletics Stadium.

Roar captain Matt Smith (pictured) said he believed the inaugural FFA Cup was a great lead-in to the coming A-League season.

"I love the fact that a team from the national premier league can take on clubs in the local Brisbane or Sydney leagues," he said.

"We've quickly forgotten about (last year). We want to perform well and we want to win. We'll be taking our strongest available squad."

Roar defender Jade North will occupy a midfield role with Luke Brattan, Matt McKay and Liam Miller injured. Regular fullback Jack Hingert is ill and new striker Mensur Kurtishi has only just arrived from Europe.
