BRISBANE Roar's form slide has continued to gather momentum after the club suffered a 2-0 loss to the Wellington Phoenix in Dunedin.
WELLINGTON PHOENIX 2 (Paul Ifill 8', Nick Ward 82')
BRISBANE ROAR 0
Goals to Paul Ifill and Nick Ward was enough to condemn the Roar to its third straight defeat, a far cry from it's record breaking 36-game unbeaten streak.
Roar coach said he took full responsibility for the squad's current form slump, but expected the club's style of play to quickly turn the tide.
"All along we've said we were about playing the game a certain way and we're on that journey and we'll continue on that journey wherever that takes us, good or bad," Postecoglou said.
"I think things will turn around very quickly results-wise, but more important for us it's just about being a better team and doing what we do better.
"We'll keep doing what we're doing because ultimately that'll produce better players and make us a better team."
Coming off the back of losses to Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart, the Roar was looking to bounce back in New Zealand.
But the Phoenix took the lead halfway through the first 45 minutes, Ifill's deflected shot leaving Roar goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos with little chance.
The Roar pushed for the equaliser in the second half, but was caught napping when Ward broke the offside trap and claimed the victory in the 82nd minute.
