RMS: ‘Not enough deaths’
A SCATHING email sent to multiple government representatives has accused Roads and Maritime Services of gross negligence toward its handling of the Ulmarra black spot.
The writer was astounded by an officer who said the "death statistics were not high enough".
Readers were on the fence about this particular spot.
Peter Haack: Too many cowboy drivers is the problem, every road is safely drivable if you drive to conditions.
Hendrik Riessen: To be sure there are some crap drivers doing the wrong thing through Ulmurra but what are the cops and RMS supposed to do? They often have a speed camera set up there and the hwy patrol are in the area more often than not.
Len Welbourn: How many deaths did it take to launch an operation down the eastern states compared to how many deaths in cars until they do the same?
