REVIEW: Lots of laughs for Lego's capped crusader
NA, na, na, na, na, na, na, na Lego Batman.
Yep, the dark knight hits the big screen again, but in a pint-size block form that for many of us consumed hours of our childhood.
Through the dark and sinister shadows of Gotham City comes a smorgasbord of well-renowned actors including Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, Zach Galifianakis, Conan O'Brien, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill land Adam Devine.
A cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne is dealing with the usual suspects of Gotham City once more.
But his life is turned upside-down when a new commissioner is appointed and discovering that he has accidently adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick.
The man who always 'works alone' is forced to come to terms with his own weaknesses, still struck by grief for the loss of his own family.
Of course, this is done in the most charming way known in the Lego movie world - with plenty of humour, hilarious songs and eye-catching animation.
There's even the occasional tongue-poking and snarky comments and reference towards the former instalments of the Batman franchise - including the good ol' days of Adam West! And despite the ending being a little quick-handed and weak, it doesn't seem to disappoint the overall feel of the movie (which in fact is imaginary and practical in Lego's essence). You'll understand when you see it!
PS - for all you grown-up's out there, check out the licence plate of the car Alfred drives leaving Wayne Manor.
