REVEALED: The Office finally releases relaunch date

THE count down is on for one of the hottest venue relaunches in the Toowoomba CBD.

Duggan St bar The Office has taken residents on one hell of a rollercoaster ride since the day it opened.

Founded by businessmen Kenneth Wagner and Michael Hay, residents were immediately drawn to the relaxed laneway bar, which opened in January 2016, because it was like nothing Toowoomba had seen before.

In December last year, the men sold the business after less than a year of operation to Worldwide Hospitality Group.

Worldwide Hospitality Group burst onto the city's food scene last year when it opened Junk, Hello Harry, 2Birds and more recently, Milk and Honey Espresso Bar.

A month after the sale, new plans for the bar were released, which included two new watering holes under the one roof: the laneway and speakeasy bar Chelsea Wine Bar.

In February, Worldwide Hospitality Group co-director Tony Kelly announced The Office was closed for renovations.

Now, he's revealed the bar's relaunch date: Friday, April 28.

The new-look bar will feature four distinct spaces.

Originally planed for Walton Stores, the Chelsea Wine Bar is the swish new cocktail bar residents are most excited for.

"We decided to build the Chelsea Bar so it's nearly hidden, like a little den of a bar,"  Mr Kelly told Toowoomba Living blogger Lynda Crawford.

"It should have about 30 seats and will feature some of the best single malt whisky, Japanese whisky and cool eclectic gins and vodkas. That'll be more of a real serious-style grown up bar."

The laneway is, as the name suggests, a separate bar in the laneway next door which features a weatherproof roof all the way from Melbourne.

The Office is giving away 20 double passes to the invite-only relaunch event on Facebook.
