'Reliable source' says Spice Girls will tour Australia

RADIO DJs Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have spilled the beans on The Spice Girls' supposedly planned 2014 tour of Australia.

The breakfast radio hosts told their 2DayFM listeners in an "exclusive announcement" yesterday that the British girl band would be touring Australia next year, although there has been no official word from promoters or the band members themselves, including the media-shy Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice).

X Factor Australia judge Mel B (Scary Spice) tweeted from Elton John's Oscars after party in LA earlier this week, but her Twitter account has not addressed the tour rumours.

"All the Spice Girls will be touring Australia. No official announcement has been made, but I have a source, a very reliable source," Jackie O said on air.

The Spice Girls, who topped the charts in the late '90s with their hits Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life, reunited for a performance at last year's London Olympics closing ceremony.

They are also the subject of a new stage musical, Viva Forever, currently playing at London's Piccadilly Theatre, but were not believed to be permanently reunited.
