Registrations open for regional AICD directors course

AS PART of its commitment to providing regional business leaders access to governance education, the Australian Institute of Company Directors is offering a scholarship for its Company Directors Course to Sunshine Coast members.

Developed and facilitated by directors for directors, this internationally-recognised education program is designed to provide directors with a comprehensive understanding of their duties and responsibilities, as well as the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully govern their organisations.

The Australian Institute of Company Directors' Sunshine Coast Committee incoming chairwoman Karon Rogers said it was important that regional directors had the same opportunities as those in metropolitan areas.

"It's important that regional business leaders have the opportunity to attend the same education programs as their counterparts in major metropolitan areas," Ms Rogers said.

"In addition, many of these directors oversee not-for-profit organisations which traditionally struggle to fund high-quality education programs for their staff," she said.

Now in its 40th year, the Company Directors Course is updated annually and provides an opportunity for directors to discuss current issues affecting governance and directorship.

It also provides unique networking opportunities. Applications close on Friday, March 4. For more information visit www.aicd.com.au
