Redbacks regroup after tough match

AUSSIE RULES: The South Toowoomba Bombers took out an unexpected victory against the Warwick Redbacks at their Saturday home game. Following injuries to several players, the new team struggled against their opponents.

Coach Brendan Walker said the team held out for the first half of the match before the Bombers scored four goals to take home a win.

"We were expecting to come out on top but we have just put a team together with six new players," Walker said.

"The Bombers restructured and got on top in the second half and ended up winning, 91 points to 63.

"They held out enough in the last quarter and fought right out to the end but we're still missing a few of older boys."

Thye Clarkson, Mac Chimes and Shane Iles were named the best players of the match.

The Redbacks will play another home game against Goondiwindi in three weeks, and the club house is open for everyone.
