Red hot fashions rule the Emmys red carpet arrivals

REDS, pinks and oranges were the hot colours on the Emmys red carpet.

The 66th annual primetime TV awards, currently underway in Los Angeles, is one of the biggest events on America's entertainment calendar and attract the small screen's top acting talent.

Everyone from The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco to Julia Luis-Dreyfus, January Jones, Christina Hendricks and Lena Dunham rocked warm, bold colours.

Large flowing skirts and trains were another big trend, creating plenty of big-scale drama. The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland both wore the look well.

Actress Keke Palmer also grabbed attention with her dramatic cobalt-blue fishtail gown.

HBO's fantasy drama Game of Thrones is up for the most awards today, 20, followed by Fargo, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and True Detective.
