Rebel Wilson a crack up as MTV Movie Awards host

FROM a pink track suit featuring koalas to a black leather number, Rebel Wilson is rocking the stage at the MTV Movie Awards.

It is an award ceremony nothing like the Oscars - especially with Wilson hosting.

The popular cinema showcase MTV Movie Awards are currently in full swing in Los Angeles.

Wilson, star of movies Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids, brought some Aussie humour to the show quipping "You know what they call drinking at nine in Australia? A slow start".

Wilson also starred in a hilarious series of clips cut from movies like Les Misérables, Life of Pi as Richard Parker the tiger and as a stripper in Magic Mike.

It was also the host's night wining Breakthrough Performance and Best Musical Moment for Pitch Perfect.

And like any awards night, it all starts off with the fashion on the red carpet.

However unlike the Oscars, there were more misses than hits with crazy punk on show rather than old-school glamour.
