Proud crowd cheer the Wheatmen home

FIERCE rivalry on the field was matched with Wheatmen pride from the sidelines at Old Boys Day, as past players returned to their home crop.

Old teams and premiership winners reunited to cheer on a new generation of Wheatmen and reminisce about their time on the field.

Chris Nearhos, an old boy from the first Wheatmen team in 1964, was a guest of honour on the day as he donated the first Wheatmen jersey ever to score a try to the club.

As a thank you for his contribution, the club will establish a new trophy in his name, awarded to the highest points scorer each year.

The crowd watched as the Wheatmen harvested a 19-12 win over old rivals the Rangers in C Grade and the B Grades cleaned up with a 60-0 win.

The A Grades finished a tense final round with a heartbreaking 24-all draw.

Check out some of the crowd who came out to cheer on our boys at their all important final home game.
