PREVIEW: A bunch of Kenworth's new 610 series trucks were put together at Mt Cotton in Southern Queensland to give a taste-test to fleet owners and transport media.

Eight trucks were on display, all Kenworths powered by the new Cummins X15 engine and only one with a manual Roadranger transmission - a sign of the times.

The T610SARs were particularly impressive with a classic style wrapped around a hi-tech twenty first century truck.

The new cab of the T610 series is the standout, wider, bigger, more creature comforts.

The new series of Kenworth trucks is the result of unprecedented investment by Paccar in an Australian product, with engineering development over seven years at a cost of $20 million.

Kenworth marketing people arere suitably optimistic and the 610 line-up is being touted as 'Our best truck yet!'

An evaluation of the T610 SAR is coming, in Big Rigs number 4 of this year.

Kenworth's T610 variants lined up at Mt Cotton. Will the new models eat share from other Kenworth product.
