The power of the dollar can take plastic out of the market

YOU may not feel like one of the richest people on the planet, but you are. You are also one of the most powerful. Companies are invested in you and will respond if their bottom line is affected. You are their market and where you spend your money matters to them.

This is awesomely powerful. Just think, big corporations will change because of you. As we move into a new era of business, corporations need to transition in order to stay relevant, engaged with their customer and hence remain profitable. The emergence of corporate responsibly is testament to this. Increased awareness of the way global business operates and the effects of this on the planet, society and our health has led to the need for business to act as a responsible citizen. Established economies are fast losing their trust of business and demanding increased transparency and accountability. They are responding to consumer demand.

Information and awareness on how destructive a product is on our health and environment has taken that product out of markets throughout the world.

Many toxic chemicals and practices that are banned in other parts of the world remain in Australia such as GMO, toxic pesticides and chemicals. What is in your household cleaning products, pesticides, food and beauty products? What are their effects on your health and the planet?

Plastic free July helps you be more conscious of what your are putting in your body and the affects of your consumer choices on the planet. Single use plastic bags are banned in many parts of Australia and throughout the world. Yet in our beautiful area we still continue to use them. Why do we make this choice? When you refuse plastic, bring your own bag or ask for a plastic alternative you are educating and bringing awareness to the issue.
