PORTERS Mitre 10 Mackay will have a grand re-launch and Family Fun Day with The Block host Scott Cam there to celebrate.

The event held on Saturday, February 24, will enable the community to see the new-look store which is bigger, brighter and better will thousands of new product ranges and an increase in building supply products.

Lauren Reck, the Sales and Marketing Manager at Porters Mitre 10 Mackay, said the Mackay city store had been undergoing renovations for three to four months after announcing Porters would join the Mitre 10 group in June.

"We have undergone a significant transformation program of the store,” Ms Reck said.

"The store is a complete shopping experience now.

Ms Reck said Porters will also be celebrating 135 years this year since Charles Porter established the company in 1883, and it was a special time considering they are also re-launching a brand new transformed store.

Former Block contestants Caro and Kingi Tahana will be travelling from Townsville to help Porter Mitre 10 Mackay to celebrate the re-launch.

Suppliers will be in store on the day to hold demonstrations including Weber, Bosch, Selleys, Principal Kitchens and others.

Family friendly entertainment and activities will also be happening from 9am including face painting, seeding planting and pot decorating, free popcorn, a sausage sizzle, superhero character visits and performances.
