Police appeal for information

POLICE investigating the circumstances surrounding a truck crash at Mount Seaview on the NSW Mid North Coast want people with information to come forward.

About 11am Sunday, police and other emergency services were called to the Oxley Hwy, about 12km west of the Mount Seaview Rd exit, following reports a heavy duty truck had left the road and crashed.

Arriving on the scene a short time later, Mid North Coast Local Area Command officers located the vehicle about 80m down an embankment, having coming to rest in dense bushland.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old man, was found trapped in the cabin.

Emergency crews freed the man and he was stabilised by paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.

He remains in a critical but stable condition with head and chest injuries.

Police investigations are continuing in relation to the cause of the accident.
