Plenty of fun for kids at cowboys rodeo
THE RAY BUNCH Machinery Cowboys Rodeo is fast approaching with the annual event set to kick off next Friday at 5pm.
But the event isn't just bucking broncos and bulls attracting the adults, kids can get in on the action too.
Event organiser Liz Browne said they have many kids activities planned for the evening, making the rodeo a fun night out for the whole family.
"We're doing our bike giveaway at half time, about 8.30pm, again this year, for kids up to ten years old to enter," Mrs Browne said.
"We'll release 100 ping pong balls into the arena and have one be the winning ball," she said.
"Whoever finds the lucky ping pong ball will win the bike."
The giveaway is free to enter and the Rodeo Committee have donated a brand new bike to be won.
If cycling isn't your thing, a jumping castle and mechanical bull ride will also be available on the night.
Kids up to 10 years can showcase their inner cowboy and enter in the Blue Chip Accounting mechanical bull ride, kicking off at 6.30pm.
The competition is $5 to enter with $50 to be won for first place and $20 and $10 for second and third prize winners.
"We'll also have a $10 McDonald's vouchers for the best dressed girl and boy," Mrs Browne said.
"There will be ice-cream, drinks and hot chips available at the canteen," she said.
A multi-draw raffle is open to all attendees at the rodeo with a TV, wireless speakers and plenty more to be won.
