Perfect Sunday morning conditions, with a few waves possible

HIGH clouds are set to keep the Coast at a pleasant 24C today, but for the savvy surfers, the Bureau of Meteorology says there may be a wave around first thing this morning.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Adam Blazak said there could be some waves on offer on the Coast's south-facing beaches early this morning, with a "decent" southerly swell sweeping through the region.

He tipped waves between 4-5ft on south-facing beaches and identified the Buddina stretch, Point Cartwright and possibly Kings Beach as spots worth checking.

Mr Blazak said there was about 2.5m-3m of swell offshore.

As for the rest of the weekend, high cloud cover will keep the temperature at a pleasant 24C maximum.

There is rain expected, but no one will get wet as a result.

Mr Blazak explained those high clouds would produce rain, but the moisture will evaporate before the rain even reaches the ground.

The temperature is set to crank up from Monday, as the high clouds clear.

Mr Blazak said winds would pick up today, with a delayed sea breeze to kick in from late afternoon, reaching up to about 15 knots.

Light winds will greet us this morning, making for a nice morning for those looking to get outdoors on a Sunday.
