Paragliders filmed with iPhone

It's not always convenient to lug around a video camera or a DSLR, especially if you're walking the dog.

A smartphone, however, is easy enough to slip into your pocket and these days, they come with in-built cameras and video cameras.

A few years ago, you wouldn't even think about trying to film home videos with your mobile phone. But these days, the quality of images produced by multimedia smartphones is astounding.

While on a morning walk on Buddina Beach recently, I was enthralled by the sight of the colourful paragliders soaring in the sky, with parachute-like wings floating dreamily against the bright blue sky and rolling surf.

One paraglider landed on the soft sand, long enough for me to snap a photograph, then gracefully lifted off again.

I didn't have my movie camera with me but fortunately I had my iPhone 5, which I used to film all the footage in this video clip of the paragliders

What do you think of the video?
