Opportunity comes knocking for Eastern Province

WHEN Flix In The Stix hits Coffs Harbour next week, one local band will be a big part of the entertainment that night.

Teenage coastal chill band The Eastern Province will play a live set at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden on February 7 after winning the Commbank Boost-a-Band competition.

Winning the the competition means the local boys will open the stage for multi ARIA award winning artists Eskimo Joe and the internationally renowned comedy trio, The Axis Of Awesome.

Featuring Mac Nebo, Ben Jones, Jono Chan, Noah Bedford and Jordan Black, The Eastern Province entered their original song 'Finish Line' into the CommBank Boost-a-Band competition which is run in conjunction with the Flix in the Stix Tour.

The online voting system via the Flix in the Stix Facebook page then saw The Eastern Province accrue the most popular votes to win their time in the spotlight.

It's a tremendous achievement for the five school friends formed a band in 2012 and will now get to play their music in front of a large home crowd.
