OPINON: Guns control has made Australia more dangerous

YOUR SAY: Alan Marshall (TC, 30/9) was absolutely right in his description of John Howard. Mr Howard only brought in the so-called gun laws as a revenue raiser and he was frightened of an "uprising" which will come eventually.

All John Howard has done is make things harder for the honest gun owners.

In fact there has been more gun crime since bringing in the new gun laws.

Hand guns and ammunition are being smuggled in at an alarming rate.

There are some countries where one can buy a hand gun easier than buying a packet of cigarettes and quite cheaply.

Parliament is well described as the asylum on capital hill, inhabited by people who shouldn't be allowed out.

Michael Délsa, Toowoomba

Letter by Alan Marshall

YOUR SAY: Friends, I couldn't agree more with questions by Michael Delsa (TC,22/9) about which party to vote for, and how once elected MPs are only interested in retirement pensions and perks.

Yes friend, I also believe down the track civil war in this country is inevitable.

You know why our former PM, that boring little man "flackjacet" Jonnee Oward, took the guns off the honest people?

He was not concerned about gun crime, or the defenceless people in case of invasion, no he was worried that further down the track there would be civil insurrection of Parliament House (asylum on capital hill) and that some politicians would stray into the path of some hot lead.
