Operation Towards Zero highlights 'good and bad'

NSW Police Force Traffic and Command Highway Patrol Command command chief inspector Philip Brooks saw both the good and bad sides of the transport industry when he headed out to check on Operation Towards Zero.

Social media users were glad to see both the good and bad being highlighted.

Jevan Hart said there was "good and bad” in every industry.

"I think you need to look at timeslots also I heard of someone being turned away from a DC the other day for 20 minutes late for their timeslot and made to rebook another timeslot twenty minutes. Only takes a bit of traffic to lose half hour they ordered the freight they should have no right to turn trucks away because of a timeslot seriously.”

While Jevan highlighted the timeslot issue, fellow Big Rigs reader Dave Luchich said he was "more than happy” to see more drug testing.

"But I believe that the drug taking is more for recreational use than for work pressure. Regardless, I don't want to share the road with anyone that's under the influence of them.”
