Open day to talk about Emu Park Anzac Memorial designs

A COMMUNITY open day surrounding the proposed designs for the Emu Park foreshore will be held on October 3.

Livingstone Shire Council has organised for the open day to be held at the Emu Park Cultural Hall where a number of foreshore designers will be available for discussions on the proposed designs for the Anzac precinct.

Mayor Bill Ludwig said the purpose of the event was to bring some community input to the master plan.

"We'll have big displays of all of the concepts of the foreshore as well as designers there for the community to talk to and ask questions," he said.

"It's a concept master plan so of course there's room for changes and hopefully this gives the community members an opportunity to come and see where the vision is going and add to that vision if they want.

"We're also thinking of doing a tour through the precinct with the designers, which I'm sure a lot of the community members will enjoy just so the vision for the project is clear."

More information will be announced closer to the date.
