Meet the locals: Sixth grader on pitch with singing, sport

SHE'S pitch perfect.

Sixth grader Annamonet Massey has performed 11 times at the Gladstone Eisteddfod, this year taking out first place with the Trinity College choir, which was her last performance this year.

A singer since she was eight and in a small vocal choir, she soon veered away from solo performances after 12 months.

"My grandma says I was born singing and my brothers say I can make a song out of anything," she says.

As well as singing, Annamonet is a keen softball player, and will compete in the Capricornia competition this weekend in Toowoomba.

Whether it's as shortstop or out on the softball pitch, she's hoping to strike a spot in the Queensland team.
