Not much sense in tree clearing debate
IT'S impossible to be on anyone's side in the Queensland tree clearing debate!
Those advocates of tree clearing want to bring out the bulldozers and chains and flatten every tree in sight.
That's no good for Australian grazing land.
Our harsh climate bakes the land in the droughts killing the micro organisms required to make the land produce to the best of its ability when the rain comes.
Our soils already reduced in minerals, are further reduced because the recycling carried out because of tree cover doesn't occur.
The Labor government wants grazing land reduced to unproductive jungle.
Their proposal makes even less sense.
Australian grazing land preforms best with light tree cover.
A tree about every 30 meters.
What's needed is a ban on clear fell clearing and a tree thinning act.
If we did that, Queensland would be one gigantic national park where wildlife co-existed with domestic animals and billions of extra trees would soak up CO2 emissions.
But no, we can't do that! It makes too much sense!
