New Year's party in Edinburgh

EDINBURGH'S Hogmanay welcomes the New Year with an exciting programme of free and ticketed events offering something for all ages.

Festivities begin with the Torchlight Procession, when thousands of flaming torches are carried through city streets, culminating in a spectacular sound, light and fireworks display.

On New Year's Eve in central Edinburgh you can join traditional folk dances at The Keilidh, enjoy live music, DJs and other entertainment at the famous Street Party, or catch Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro at the Concert in the Gardens, held beneath Edinburgh Castle.

At midnight, 2011 is ushered in with a stunning fireworks display.
