TRUCKLINE'S new National Operations Manager, automotive industry heavyweight Phillip Stanton, plans to modernise behind-the-scenes procedures for the company's spare parts systems to deliver better speed and service for trucking customers.

"My goal is to strengthen the way our branches are supported from the back end, which will help our frontline staff really deliver on our customers' expectations,” Mr Stanton said.

"We understand time is money - our customers' trucks need to be on the road, not in the workshop. When they need a part they know they can count on us regardless if their truck is American, European or Japanese.

"We have more than 25,000 products in stock, and more than 80% of our inventory is held in our branches, which means we lead the industry in parts availability. But I believe we can do even better.”

Headquartered in Queensland, Truckline is Australia's leading retailer of aftermarket truck, trailer and on-road diesel vehicles parts.

The company has a national network of stores and two parts distribution centres, one in Queensland and a new one in Western Australia, which opened in January 2017.

Mr Stanton, who was appointed in October 2016, has more than three decades of experience across small domestic and large multi-national automotive and heavy equipment OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) dealerships.

Truckline's National Manager Mick Henderson said in previous roles, Mr Stanton has been instrumental in warehouse and system design and implementation from the ground up, achieving four-figure growth as a result of his meticulous approach.

"Phill is a high achiever and a stayer - in the past 25 years he's been at senior management level with just two companies in the automotive industry,” Mr Henderson said.

"That gives him a deep understanding of how to best optimise a business with very stable foundation like Truckline.

"Phill's expertise in inventory management and warehouse operation is instrumental in helping us build long term relationships with our customers.

"During the company's 60 years servicing the Australian trucking industry, we have built a reputation of always finding the right quality part, at the right price, as fast as possible for our customers.”

Mr Stanton, who is looking forward to another long tenure, said he is first and foremost a people person and he will be talking to staff in all of Truckline's 24 outlets around Australia to find out what they need and how he can improve procedures so customers feel direct benefits.

"Truckline employs many of the industry's most knowledgeable and highly trained staff, so they are the first people I'll be talking to, as I work through the network, one branch at a time, to see how we can further develop and optimise our procedures,” he said.

"Many of our branches have been established for 20 years or more, and their consistency and first class service has earned them a loyal customer base. We'll be looking at updating facilities where it's called for and ensuring that we can keep building on the years of excellent work.

"One of Truckline's great strengths is its people - we have staff with top notch industry knowledge across the fields of fleet, repairs, trade, wholesale, defence, mining and agriculture for the truck and trailer

market.

"I'm excited about joining Truckline's national team and really making a difference by further modernising procedures, while supporting the traditions and people that make this business and industry great.”
