New production agency to cast Mackay stars
AFTER realising the strong growing talent Mackay has to offer, a production agency has been introduced to the region.
Sick of entertainers being flown in from Brisbane and other major cities, the two ladies behind the agency said it was time to recognise and utilise our incredible local talent.
Co-principals of Fame Talent School, Dolly Louw and Leisa Persson, are ready to take on their next big adventure, 'It's Showtime Productions'.
Whether it's a Christmas party, bucks night, hens night, gala event or show, the 'ying and yang' pair can source the best local talent for any occasion.
"There's just nothing like this in Mackay at the moment,” Mrs Persson said.
"People have been calling us regularly to put together gigs so we thought there's obviously a need for it in the community and Fame is going so well, we need something else now.”
The busy pair have already secured their first major gig with the Mackay Show Association and will be unveiling the new grandstand at this year's Mackay Show.
To celebrate, well-known professional Australian Director and Choreographer Yvette-Lee is headed to town.
"Yvette-Lee is coming to Mackay, this is huge,” Mrs Louw said. "She's 100 per cent on board with it.”
The global talent will audition Mackay entertainers to be part of the opening and closing numbers for The Grandstand Show.
Her dance captain and assistant, Kiara Kieser from Melbourne will also be coming to Mackay to cast the two numbers and facilitate the learning of the routines.
And, the theme for this year is The Greatest Showman.
It's Showtime Productions is calling all singers, actors, acrobats, dance troupes, magicians, circus performers, marching bands and ensembles from all over Mackay for The Grandstand Show.
The Grandstand Show is something they hope It's Showtime Productions can kick off with a bang and will continue for many years to come.
"It's amazing, the spirit of the kids is just electric because they're all together and it's just the best of the best performing at once,” Mrs Louw said.
"We want to be a family like everyone especially for the community, we do have really talented kids in Mackay.”
