New mini golf and tenpin bowling hub about to open

A COMBINATION of about 70 tradies and a group of movie production designers have teamed up to deliver the next shock to the senses for Sunshine Coast party people.

Fans of fun in the region are about have their wishes met with Holey Moley mini golf and Strike Bowling Bar about to open in the entertainment heart of Maroochydore.

Set over 1300sq m and catering to 275 people at a time, the two venues - including 10 lanes of tenpin bowling and 18 holes of wacky mini golf - will be complemented by a sports bar, karaoke rooms and escape rooms.

March 29 has been pencilled in as the opening day for the new venue which will be established in the former Big Top Market Fresh Site, with entry just off the popular Ocean St.

Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber envisaged the new venue as a "melting pot” catering to all types, from hipsters to corporates to families and all others.

A 'Caddyshack' cocktail bar and full kitchen dishing up American-inspired burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries will form part of the site and the venue can fully cater for venues and functions up to 275 people.

Mr Schreiber said the new venue would provide a boost for local workers too.

"We will employ over 50 people in the venue, in a range of hospitality, administration and managerial positions,” Mr Schreiber said.

The site will be open seven days a week, from 11am until late.

The Holey Moley course will feature two nine-hole courses, full of pop-culture icons including The Simpsons and Evel Knievel, the legendary American stunt rider and daredevil.
