New executives start after council restructure

SUNSHINE Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson has introduced the council's new executive team at the organisation's first public meeting of the year.

The new appointments came after the council last year went through a restructure of its corporate hierarchy.

CEO Michael Whittaker said three newcomers to the team had been chosen from 349 applicants.

They include Sydney consulting executive Jeanette Allom-Hill as group executive of business performance and former Townsville City Council director James Ruprai as group executive of customer engagement and planning services.

Current Deputy Director-General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Graham Fraine, will start next week as the council's chief strategy officer.

Council staffer of three years Tom Jamieson, who is not related to the mayor, has been promoted to group executive of built infrastructure.

Existing leadership team members Warren Bunker and Greg Laverty have been appointed group executive of liveability and natural assets and group executive of economic and community development respectively.

The council has also appointed Debra Robinson as project director and Scott Bourke as chief innovation officer.

Cr Jamieson said the leadership team had a great responsibility and great accountability for leading and inspiring the council's staff.

He said the team would work to produce the best outcomes possible for the Coast.

"I feel extremely confident with the new team we have,” Cr Jamieson said.
