New event set to show off redevelopment

ROCKHAMPTON missed out on Quay St's big reveal last week due to an unfortunate bout of rain, but a last minute market in the lead up to Christmas is sure to impress.

The Luna Markets are here to save the day after the Quay St Party was cancelled last Friday due to predicted lighting storms in Rockhampton.

Organiser of the Luna Markets, Jessica Drew said the event was a chance to show off all the great work that's been done down near the river.

"After last weekend with all the cancelled events, it'll be good for people to see the new Quay St,” Jessica said.

"There will be market stalls, food stalls and maybe a musician and kids rides.”

The free event will run from 5pm to 9pm and will be showing off what locals and the new development have to offer.

"It will be good for Christmas shopping and also to support local business,” Jessica said.

"Also to showcase the re-development so people can experience the new Quay St.”

The new area of Quay St will be closed for the event on Friday night between 3pm and 10pm.
