New councillors ready to start work
NEWCOMERS to Noosa Council Jess Glasgow, Ingrid Jackson and "recycled" councillor Brian Stockwell will be assigned their roles within council and with community groups this Thursday.
Councillors will vote to adopt the recommendations by council CEO Brett de Chastel.
Cr Glasgow should serve on the Regional Arts Development Fund Committee, and Cr Jackson is set to join Cr Jackson as members of the Audit and Risk Committee, while Cr Stockwell should become a member of the Environment Levy Working Group.
Cr Stockwell should also serve on the Park Road Boardwalk Reference Group. Cr Jackson is expected be appointed alongside Cr Frank Pardon and Deputy Mayor Frank Wilkie as members of the Transport Strategy Project Control Group.
Deputy Mayor Frank Wilkie is also earmarked to become a member of the Rufous St Project Control Group. Council's Performance Review Committee should be chaired by Mayor Tony Wellington and Cr Wilkie, who remains on the board of the Tourism Noosa.
Mr de Chastel said it would also be beneficial if other Councillors could have the opportunity to participate in the internal performance review process over time.
Cr Joe Jurisevic and the mayor look to be appointed to the Local Disaster Management Group. Cr Pardon will stay on as council's rep for the Roads and Transport Alliance, an arrangement between the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Local Government Association of Queensland and local governments.
The mayor should also serve on the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation Board.
