Netflix lifts lid on Aussie ISPs' real performance

NETFLIX has revealed the Australian ISPs that provide the best prime-time Netflix streaming experience - and the results may surprise you.

The US internet video streaming giant launched the local version of its "ISP Speed Index" on Monday night. The ranking index lists the average prime time streaming speeds for Netflix content streamed to Netflix customers on various ISPs during a particular month.

For Australia, TPG Telecom came out on top for April, scoring average speeds of 3.36 megabits per second (Mbps).

Optus came in second place at 3.27 Mbps and iiNet in third, at 3.24 Mbps.

In last place was Telstra, recording average speeds of 2.23 Mbps.
