Neal shines on the waves while wearing the green and gold

REPRESENTING Australia obviously sits comfortably with Sapphire Beach longboard surfing star Jared Neal.

The national champion won through his opening round heat during the first day of the 2013 ISA World Longboard Championship at Huanchaco.

Neal is one of four surfers in Team Australia competing in the mens, womens and junior divisions.

The team is taking on surfers from more than 20 countries at the left-hand point break in northern Peru.

Surfing in excellent four-foot conditions, Neal progressed through to the second round.
