Neal is Australia's shining star at longboard world champs
SAPPHIRE Beach longboard star Jared Neal was a lone shining light for the Australian team in northern Peru.
Competing in the 2013 ISA World Longboard Championship in Peru, Neal was the only Australian to avoid the repechage rounds after finishing second in his second round heat with a score of 11.73.
The other three members of the Aussie team all finished third or fourth in their heats, forcing them into the repechage heats.
The team is taking on surfers from more than 20 countries at Huanchaco's left-hand point break which has been producing consistent four-foot conditions for the event.
