NBN to hold session at Cedar Pocket
THE company rolling out the national broadband network (NBN), nbn™, is heading to Cedar Pocket to provide the local community with the information they need to take advantage of fixed wireless superfast broadband and ask any questions or raise concerns about the proposed fixed wireless network.
nbn™ already has 24 fixed wireless facilities delivering NBN services to more than 6300 homes and businesses across the Gympie Regional and Fraser Coast local government areas, and 20 more facilities are approved and awaiting completion.
Along with fixed wireless, nbn™ is using a mix of technologies, including fixed line and satellite to deliver high speed broadband.
A community information session for local residents and businesses interested in finding out more about nbn™ fixed wireless and fixed line networks and its benefits will be held on Wednesday, February 10 between 3pm - 6pm at Cedar Pocket Hall, 483 Cedar Pocket Rd, Cedar Pocket.
If you would like to find out more about nbn™ fixed wireless proposals in these areas, or about the fixed wireless service, drop in at any time between 3pm and 6pm to see the information display and talk to nbn™ representatives directly. No appointment is necessary.
nbn™ corporate affairs manager for Queensland, Kylie Lindsay urged residents to attend the community information session to find out about the huge impact access to superfast broadband will have to the local region.
"Residents are invited to attend this information session to arm themselves with information and learn about how to maximise the opportunities presented by the NBN.
"This is an opportunity to ask questions about not only the fixed wireless network, but about the NBN in general," she said.
"The NBN will become critical for health, education, business development and the overall long-term sustainable growth of regional areas like Cedar Pocket."
