MP says media fell for rego bait

ACCORDING  to a Lockyer Valley MP the media got it all wrong and fell for the bait when the ALP claimed heavy vehicle and work utes registrations would subsidies private vehicles.

According to Ian Rickuss MP Member for Lockyer the LNP is not planning on freezing the registration of cars at the expense of trucks and business vehicles.

He said the truck costs would simply move up according to the usual process, following the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

"I would like to add that Scott Emerson MP at no time mentioned the fact that extra charges were going to be imposed on trucks or utes to subsidise this freeze on registrations for private vehicles which make up 75% of registered vehicles," he said.

Looking at the political advertising the LNP television ad also has it wrong when it says Queensland doesn't have plan to deal with roads, congestion and ports. A Queensland Transport Strategy was actually introduced at the end of last year. But that's politics…enjoy the election.
