Motown is back in town

PUT on your dancing shoes and be prepared to go back in time when Supreme Dreams hit the Proserpine Entertainment Centre this weekend.

Bringing back the biggest hits from some of the biggest girl groups of the 60's and 70's, peformers Naomi Summers, Georgia Knight and Hannah Rigby will have you wishing the classic tunes were still played on radios today.

"It's a time to re-live that fantastic music with three great voices," Supreme Dreams producer, Leslie Martin said.

"It's an amazing vibe from the very start and it's always a great big party."

The trio will perform hits from Martha and the Vandellas, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and The Supremes.

Baby Love, Nowhere to Run, Proud Mary and You Can't Hurry Love are just some of the tunes you'll be humming on the car ride home.

Fully costumed and choreographed, you'll feel like you're back in the 60's and 70's, in the audience watching the legendary musicians live on stage.

Ms Martin said it didn't matter what age you were, the energy of the group was enough to get everyone up and moving.

"We try to get people up and dancing and we make them feel as comfortable as possible so they do that," she said.

For an additional $25, guests can opt for a buffet dinner and main dessert to make for an evening of fun and food.

The Proserpine show will double as a fundraising event with $5 from every ticket sold put towards the Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club.

Ms Martin said this was the first time the group had performed in Proserpine and was confident the crowd would respond well.

"We always get fantastic feedback from everybody," she said.

"The number of people who actually get up and join is the biggest testament to how the show is received."
